Sol & Robert should've equal screen time as Grace and Frankie.
I know the show is about Grace & Frankie but still I think plot should engage all these 4 grate actors equally instead of involving more supporting cast.

shareThe feminist movement disagrees with you but who cares?
I think Sol and Robert are one of the more nuanced portrayals of gay people on TV. I wish Sam Waterson was nominated for G&F for an Emmy.

I just finished season 2 and I stand by my earlier comment that I want to see less of them. If not less, the same amount of time no more. Maybe if Sol character wasn't so annoying and whiny or Robert wasn't such an asshat, maybe more screen time? I don't know, I still think the focus should be on the women and how they adjust. I want to see more of Frankie's new relationship and an exploration of Grace's drinking problem. I would also like to know more about Bud's backstory. I don't care for Mallory at all.
shareI feel the same way. As other posters have mentioned the show is called Grace and Frankie and that's who I want to see. Last season what made the show so good was Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda and their scenes together. Kind of a modern version of Lucy and Ethel.
I could have done without the whole wedding thing and Sol feeling guilty the first few episodes of season 2. Soooo annoying. As you said his whining Is annoying and Robert is an asshat (and a hypocrite). It was ok for him to cheat for years but when it's done to him just once there's no forgiveness.
I hope next season they spend more time on Grace and Frankie.
To be honest, I'm quite happy with the amount of Robert / Sol we have. And, I have to say, I don't think I'd be particularly bothered if they disappeared from the show completely..
sharei agree.. at the very least, robert and sol ought to have as visible a presence as their children, which sadly they often don't.. the two men play a very crucial role in adding the necessary counter-balance, tension and insight to grace and frankie's journey.. i.e., without their former husbands' constant backstory, grace and frankie's story would ring pointless and hollow..
it's the very reason a character such as stanley zbornak was such a huge and necessary presence on 'the golden girls'..
it wasn't the fall from her 16th-floor penthouse that killed her, it was the landing
Amen!!!

No way. It should be mostly about Grace and Frankie (speaking as a gay man that is) Sol and Robert are the least two interesting characters to me. They have their charm, but it's very one note.
shareNO THANKS
shareCount me as a no vote here. I love Sheen and Watterson but this is not about them. I would rather see them then the kids, simply because I enjoy watching them more. Realistically though, the children would feature more in Frankie and Grace's lives.
shareThere are a thousand shows on TV about people in their 20s and early 30s. This show is about older women, coping with the loss of their marriages, their marginal roles in their children's lives, and establishing a new identity for themselves. If you only want to watch young people falling in and out of love, there are lots of other programs you can watch.
Watching Waterston in this and reruns of Law and Order is a master class is what acting means. With every gesture and lift of an eyebrow, he creates completely different characters. I agree that he should get an Emmy.
I don't much care for the kids. I watch Grace and Frankie for Grace and Frankie! I agree, as I said, Sheen and Watterson are great. I just don't think this is their story. It is Grace and Frankie's story it should mostly feature them.
