Sol & Robert should've equal screen time as Grace and Frankie.

I know the show is about Grace & Frankie but still I think plot should engage all these 4 grate actors equally instead of involving more supporting cast.

No for a half hour show it focuses enough on the exs has it is

you have to ask yourself are you a fighter, or are you zombie food

Sol & Robert’s is sort of parallel plot throughout the season, so I think it should either be significant, as they are the reason to begin with the Grace & Frankie’s journey together or it at least should be subtle like their kids. But its neither.

So funny I was thinking just the opposite, I hate when they focus on them...its call Grace and Frankie.

reply

If they did, then that completely different show would probably be called, "Sol and Robert."

"Our daughter has been abducted by one of these beige lunatics."

reply

The show is called Grace & Frankie for a reason.

I don't enjoy the Robert and Sol scenes, but I love the show. I have long admired Waterston and Sheen as actors, but these performances are over the top. A caricature of gay elderly men. Very unlikely, considering how long they were closeted.

I also want to comment that with all the focus on how good or bad Fonda and Tomlinson look, (They look fantastic IMHO.) no one mentions how the men look -- I think they look dreadful. This is Hollywood, fellas -- why so jowly, puffy and unkempt? Double standard, anyone?

reply

It's ok for men to age in Hollywood, just not ok for the women.

reply

There have already been shows about elderly gay men couples. Vicious shown on PBS stations in the US is ending its second season this month. It is a half hour comedy with Ian McKellen and Derek Jacobi as a couple.

I don't know everything. Neither does anyone else

I would actually prefer seeing less of Robert and Sol's relationship. It actually bothers me that these characters "got off the hook" so to speak. No matter what and why, these guys cheated on their wives for 20 years. There should be some sort of penance or karma for that. But nope, whenever Grace or Frankie get mad at them they, and the children, can't understand why they're still so pissed.

After 35 years of marriage, my dad came out of the closet and broke my mother's heart. After 6 years she's still pissed and I don't blame her one bit.

And there I thought the premise of this series was utterly implausible, apart from tv, eg 'Girls'.

reply

Honestly, I could do with less of their storyline. They just aren't that interesting. The ladies and the kids (except Mallory) are interesting.

reply

I think they're the weak link. They aren't very plausible to me as a couple, or even as gay men. I also hate Sol's childish, whiny dependency on Frankie.

reply

I want to see less of them. I like the dynamic between the ladies and I want the plot to revolve around how they adjust. I don't care about those two at all. Well, I mean I like them but I don't want to see them too much. I think Sam W. whines too much and Sheen has a stick up his ass. Also I think they got off too easy. I don't think I could forgive my husband for deceiving me all those years and then remain friends. It's one thing to remain civil if you have young kids but this...
