Yes. Men AND women are both generally unaccustomed to women being presented in such a frank and matter-of-fact way. I mean, I do understand your reaction to an extent - but it's how you **interpret** it and act upon it that moves me to comment.

My real and valid reaction to the ending of S2 - I cringed.
Of course, yes, your reaction was real. So was mine. But then I challenge the idea as to whether these kinds of reactions are really "valid", in the sense of being legitimately **ours**, or whether this kind of revulsion isn't just manufactured in us. Aren't our bodies ALSO real? Don't they deserve care "even after" we're supposedly "not *beep* any more?

If you were replying to Quicksilver1900, on the contrary, I think the show is as much for her as anyone else....and I don't mean to pigeonhole or stereotype her, but her cringing reaction seems to echo aspects of Grace's personality - and notice how Frankie is slowly but surely bringing Grace along to a more accepting place regarding her own body and sexuality...and helping her to take a more full ownership of them.
I would think that the show itself performs the same function for its audience, to a greater or lesser degree; and/but at any rate, I'm glad Quicksilver1900 is watching at all.

shareI don't imagine this show would appeal to anyone south of 50. It's definitely intended for those of us who are in the second half of our lives.
Not that someone in their 20s, 30s or 40s couldn't enjoy the show. It's just that it doesn't give them much to relate to, as evidenced by the OP's post.
My wife and I are in our early 40's, and we both love the show.
Who controls the past, controls the future.

I thought it was pretty good. They're doing their thing and to hell with everyone else.
