Did this remind anyone of "Saw"? *SPOILERS*

An old man with terminal cancer becomes a cerebral vigilante, rounding up a group of sinners and playing them off with twisted mind games before their untimely demise.

OK, granted there are big differences in that ATTWN's victims were murderers whereby not all of Saw's victims were, and that Saw's victims at least had a chance to save themselves. But the premise is still essentially the same.

Charles Dance even looks and acts uncannily like Jigsaw with his cold-blooded, emotionless view to his rationale of meting out justice!

No it did not.

Now that you mention it, I see where you're coming from but I'll still never give that another thought after I finish this post.

I was telling my sister about this mini series, trying to convince her to watch it. She said "it sounds like the Saw movies"

I've never heard anyone involved with the Saw films say this was an influence. But as mentioned the novel has been hugely influential so it may have been. You could also argue that the original Friday the 13th is similar-a group of people in an isolated location being bumped off one by one by a killer who holds them guilty of past sins, proving the longevity and influence of Christie's work.

Heck I'm surprised-or maybe I missed it-that no one has a thread comparing And Then There Were None to The Hateful Eight, since that film was the same plot in a western.

Saw is to this what McDonalds is to Mrs. Rogers' cooking.
