where are all his people?

wheres the rest of david's group? The building is on fire and Joel casually walks in and out without anybody noticing? Shouldnt there be at least be a guard or two on patrol or something? perhaps they could show how Joel kills all the people there to explain why no one shows up at the end.

reply

They were all killed offscreen by Ellie and zombie Joe.

reply

Wondering the same thing very odd

reply

I dunno.
Good question.

It looked like the fire was internal and not outside enough for anyone to notice.

I suspect all the men guards or with guns were already taken out by Joel and Ellie and Dave was the last one.

As for why anyone else didn't show up, like a few women, is anyone's guess.

reply

A couple of them is tasked to haul the dead horse carcass back so theres a few of them armed, unless they took too long to return they should have notice the burning building. They could have show Joel taking out a couple of armed men at the resort as it seem like Joel stroll in to fetch Ellie.

reply

That bothered me too. There is a huge fire in your little resort. And not one soul went to see whats up.

An that bad guy just watched as fire was starting and didnt even thought to put it down. And there was fresh fire inside that house. The one from Ellie took that burning wood. So someone had to take care of it.

reply

I'm guessing the writers probably had to have thought of that, but were still willing to throw logic out the window so that they could have their touchy-feely "baby-girl" hug right after she leaves the burning building.

reply

A) It wasn't a "huge fire." It was growing, but Joel & Ellie left before it got big enough for people to notice. Not complicated.

B) What ALL of you are not realizing is that that place was an ABATTOIR. It was where they were butchering/preparing/storing the PEOPLE THEY HAD BEEN EATING. So that goes a Long ways towards explaining why it would be somewhere people wouldn't notice/go near/easily access.

reply

The building thats burning is where david does his preaching and the smoke from the burning building shouldnt be hard to be notice by anyone there.

reply

??? Even if it is, it's clearly off the beaten path. The sequence of events:

1. A fire starts
2. Before it blazes out to the point people notice, Joel and Ellie escape
3. That is all.

reply

yeah I guess somehow everyone there didnt notice anything amiss in broad daylight. Btw its not an escape since theres no one there to stop them, basically Joel just wander in there , found Ellie by chance and they left.

reply

And Joel, after having sprung up from a near-coma ready to fight people to the death, just waltzes up to the right area in the entire resort where Ellie is being kept, not having been spotted by anyone. EXPLAIN that pal.

reply

Sure:

He took his time, moved carefully, and went where/when people weren't looking.

Simple.

Your description ("just waltzes up") has NOTHING to do with what was on screen. You're confused. . .the fact that you weren't shown HOW he did it, or how long it took, doesn't mean it was easy. Or quick. Or a waltz in the park.

Simple. Ok? Still pals?

reply

They all accidentally locked themselves in the crapper.

Yeah I was at least expecting some kind of confrontation between Joel and the daughter of the guy he killed at the university(?). That's the usual thing in shows like this, especially after they had focused on her a bit near the start of the episode.

reply

Yeah, thought the same thing. Felt like there was some stuff missing. What I bet happened was they filmed more scenes but had to cut to condense the episode.
