So Underrated

Been wanting to see it for a VERY long time.

It was a fantastic movie IMO. The acting on both parts(main and supporting) was excellent. It was wonderfully shot. Tom Hardy did a REALLY great job playing the Kray twins, and the whole supporting cast was good as well; though I'd wish Christopher Eccelston had gotten more screentime. Though I enjoyed Black Mass, I'd say Legend is slightly better than it; though comparing a film with two gangster twins to a film with one ruthless one isn't really fair I guess.. Anyway I really loved this movie, and will definitely be buying it on blu-ray. Think it releases on March 1, 2016.
I find it weird that it's currently at 7.3 on IMDB, its one of 2015's better movies IMO.
Thoughts?

1.Have you seen Legend? Rate 1-10?
2.Did you like Tom Hardy's performance(s) here?
3.For those that know the real story about the Krays, what would be some good books, docs, etc. to check out ?
4.Does it deserve any nominations?
5.What role would you like to see Tom Hardy take on next?
6.Which brother did you like more: Ron or Reggie?

"Would rather [Tom Hardy] quit acting," eh?

So are you just trying to be clever, or merely stun us all with your bottomless ignorance?

Why do you feel the need to be a complete cock on here? Do you not get enough attention in real life? You come across as nothing but an absolute )*(... So glad there is a ignore list, you have now managed to make it onto mine you utter anchor...

More Paul Bettany would have made this a much better film.

So you didn't like it?

Really liked the first half, then I just felt the film itself didn't really have much to go on about for the rest of the duration. Tom Hardy definitely made it watchable though. 71/100 was my final grade.

reply

Mate, Tom makes anything watchable. Guy's a brilliant actor.

Fantastic. One of the best films of 2015.

1) Easy 9/10
2) Loved it, I thought he was fantastic as Reggie and although a bit over the top with Ronald, he was a funny character so I didn't mind.
3) I had heard about the Krays in the past but I'm not sure of any good books etc.
4) Best Actor (Academy Awards) definitely. I think Best picture as well and of the nominated ones, I've watched, The Martian, Bridge of Spies and Mad Max, and I don't think they're as good as Legend.
5) I like Tom Hardy, he has played so many different characters. I would watch anything he is in.
6) Tough one, in the end you realise Reggie wasn't any better than Ron. I liked Reggie before he screwed things up with Frances, after which I preferred Ron.

Same here, especially your response to #6.

1. I will rate it a 5,5.

2.Had it not been for Hardys monumental accomplishment as the twins, I would have given it a 4, as i quickly got bored with the uninteresting way the story was told.

4. Tom Hardy deserves something maybe.

5. Punisher.

6. None of them.

reply

It is brilliant. Very underrated and I can't believe Tom Hardy wasn't nominated for an Oscar for this performance.
