Does anyone else dislike Jane?

I'm in the process of watching the show for the first time on Netflix. I'm currently on episode fifteen of the first season and I just can't help but be annoyed by Jane all the time. I find her really selfish. And I know that her whole character is supposed to be the complete opposite... Or is it? I don't know. She's just my least favorite character. Favorites right now would be Petra and Xo.

Just wondering what everyone's opinions are if you guys are all caught up. Does Jane change any?

Yes! She is a whinger and very self absorbed, she expects everyone to revolve around her, dealing with her issues. She's annoying as hell!

But she has grown significantly less OCD about motherhood this season, which has improved her appeal.

Dude/dudette, it's a telenovela. It's supposed to be larger than life. And even if it wasn't, are you seriously trying to say that there are no young attractive 'virginal' people out there (whichever way you define 'virginal')?

I don't know, WesisAeleo - so you WATCH the show. You are writing as if virginity only exists for people not cute enough to find someone to get laid. Jane is cute, so it's ridiculous she was a virgin.

Let's review the show, okay? Her family is financially challenged. Her mother was a teen-age single mom. Jane's grandmother told her to preserve her virginity. To Jane, this translated to - don't let what happened to your mother happen to you. Jane is a pretty woman with many temptations and challenges to her virginity, but her goals for school and career were stronger.

After she was artificially inseminated, she began to think, hell, I'm already a single mother, so what's the point of remaining a virgin, but essentially, events and timing interfered with her losing it at that point.

She's worse in Season 2 and EVEN worse in Season 3. I liked her in Season 1 and was rooting for her. Now, I actively dislike her and watch the show for the other characters.
