He's blushing the whole time.

The main character actor is blushing the entire movie. Very uncomfortable to watch. I saw it's his first movie and all, but he should be bit more professional.

He was brilliant and charming. He carried the film appearing in every scene. I respectfully disagree.

Hes a very pale skinned person and his cheeks are rosy all the time as are lots of young adults . His pictures on his Twitter and Instagram accounts are similar with naturally rosy cheeks. The movie was made with unknown actors for the band so it would be believable . They couldnt be professional actors. It would take you out of the movie if you knew them from other films. I know I would not have thought the film was enjoyable if one of the band members had been an actor from "Superbad" or from another well known movie.

I'm guessing you've never been a pale, white teen boy? Rosy cheeks are kind of a normal thing on white teenagers.

You are with pale white teen boys a lot I assume?

No need to make a dickish, not to mention creepy, response to my post when you're the one who made an altogether rude and cruel comment about Ferdia Walsh-Peelo's skin.

reply

It's just his celtic skin, prone to rosacea and blushing.
With this infomation now you know that your comment was not just rude, but racist.

I thought that it worked to the movie's advantage. I particularly noticed it during the first kiss scene, which I thought made it seem more genuine. I don't see why you have such a problem with blushing. It has nothing to do with being professional.

I think it's endearing and helps remind the audience of how young and naive a character is supposed to be. I remember rewatching early seasons of Smallville and noticing that Tom Welling blushed a lot, and it really helped balance the fact that a 23 yo, 6'4" hunk was playing an awkward 15 yo.

"he should be bit more professional"

As if blushing is a choice.

reply

Rosacea is not the same thing as blushing. His cheeks were the same color all the time and no, he didn't blush. That would mean his cheeks got noticeably redder.
