If they cast women who actually looked like the actual Astronaut wives

No one would watch. Seven rather plain and homely women. It could be worse, they picked an actress for the new series Quantico that looks like a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Model. Rest assured anyone who looks like that would never apply to the FBI. I know it's TV and you should suspend belief but at least make the Astronaut wives look like someone that their husbands would cheat on for someone who is much more attractive. When you see the original seven you can definitely see why almost everyone cheated on their wife except Glenn who was a Boy Scout.

I've been fortunately blessed with above average looks.

And unfortunately cursed with commitment and loyalty issues.

Point is I have had many attractive girlfriends (I am single) and have cheated on every one of them.

Why does every woman have to be gorgeous anyway? Women come in all types of faces: classically beautiful, plain, handsome, winsome, dour, round, square, oval, heart-shaped. It doesn't indicate what type of a person they are inside. It's sexist and insulting to say that the astronauts cheated on their wives because their wives were ugly.

Actually, read the book, which has candid photos of the wives in which they look much prettier than that deliberately-staid, staged shot with the capsule. Rene Carpenter actually was an actress and model before she married Scott. Trudy Cooper was quite athletic and pretty. This series and The Right Stuff make out Betty Grissom to be kinda dowdy, but she wasn't really.
