Better than Frozen?

Frozen was so garbage and had a terrible message. Its the most overrated animated film in the last decade.

This movie was the polar opposite.

I think it's mostly a matter of taste, I like Frozen but to me yes Moana is a better movie and the music is better, maybe not as "catchy" but better. For me with the new era Disney Princess movies it goes #1. Tangled, 2. Moana and Frozen takes 3rd

Yeah, it's a question I would have to really think about in great detail. I'm just really happy that Disney seems to be returning to the Golden age Disney musical only this time they really are paying greater attention to things like gender and race too and giving those voices a chance to be heard in greater detail.

This Frozen, and Tangled are all arguably the best 3D Disney film.

The short answer for me is no, but that's really just a preference thing probably. It's still very good and the best mainstream animated film this year though.

The long answer is I'm sick of seeing the words "better than Frozen" on every single modern animated film message board. With all the people hating on it, it certainly isn't overrated in any capacity. Frozen is just in general more cleverly written, has better characters overall, and is just a more dynamic musical. Interestingly, I feel this film should have gone full Tangled and it almost did. Tangled is easily my favorite of the recent Disney films, though that could once again be just preference. It's decision to put the comedy and adventure first worked wonders, it's the best film of it's kind that Disney has done. Moana was almost there but I felt a few areas were just a little lacking. Still though, this was only the first viewing so I'll need time to fully evaluate of course.

Both are perfect in their own way. Its like comparing apples to oranges. I love both and both are healthy.
