I forget the songs already. Not every animation should have songs

Zootropolis had one and thats was enough. In Frozen the songs fit perfectly. But in Vaiana/Moana it was more like they thought it had to be a musical.

Personally I really enjoyed the songs and loved a few of them (Shiny, You're Welcome, We Know The Way) but I have to admit I had been listening to the soundtrack before the movie and was interested in it due to the fact that Lin-Manuel Miranda was involved. So for any non Lin fans who hadn't listened to the songs before it may be different as i was little biased towards the soundtrack before it even came out.

Overall the movie was a fun watch but I would actually rank both Zootopia and Inside Out above it. While this was more of a traditional Disney movie (princess, sidekick, villain, happy ending) the story overall and characters were just OK. Moana was pretty cool as a Disney heroine but the movie was like a 6.5/10 for me.

The SOngs were pretty good, but not nearly as memorable as those in "Frozen".

The music was good, though I wouldn't call it memorable. The only tune that stuck with me was WE KNOW THE WAY.

But overall Disney music just doesn't resonate with me now like it did back during the 90's and earlier.

But I will say that they continue to improve for their CG animated films. I found the music for Tangled to be crap. Frozen was ok. Moana actually had a song that I wouldn't mind listening to off the ipod.

Disney just needs help adding better catchier tunes to their soundtracks.
