Lack of great supporting characters (or any at all)

It is a pity a beautiful movie like this feels so empty and lonely. It was all wrong to choose the chicken as her sidequick instead of the pig in the first place. And Maui is poorly written and unlikeable most of the time. I feel this movie could have been greater with more characters introduced in the journey travelling along Moana.

I give it a 7/10 for the amazing visuals and the soundtrack.

I liked Maui but most of the other supporting characters were unfortunately not that great. Though, I liked how Maui had a bunch of little people that came alive on his body, that was pretty cool.

Until the movie itself, I thought the animals would actually speak (considering Tudy was hired for the rooster) :/

Honestly though, I feel that the movie was good without a supporting cast. I don't think it would be better with one.
