Another Religiously-Themed Show?

From the look of the promo, it seems to be a religiously-based programme. What a pity. It was great the 2014 "God-themed" shows have gone by the board, so I hope this one does too. SMH

I'm an Atheist but am happy to buy into the conceit that Gods are amongst us for the sake of fiction. Higher powers are a basic part of fantasy fiction from Thor in the Avengers through to God in Bruce Almighty. The same goes for films with magic in or Ghosts. It is all fantasy but if it makes for an entertaining story who cares?

It's laughable. The show stinks. It looks like It was put together by some white film student that goes to church every sunday and didn't have sex till marriage.

There are a lot of those fools / trolls on this particular board.

They are on every IMDB board but for some reason this series seemed to get more of them.

Sometimes I seriously think there are paid trolls. Why wouldn't a network pay somebody under a contract where they sign a non-disclosure to troll boards of their competitor to try to get sheeple to hate a show or not watch it.

Really think about it. Think about how much an actor/actress, script writer, producer, director, stage hands all get paid. The advertisers cover their ticket based on viewership.

Why not hire board trolls to secure their job or be a troll themselves?

It's not like most us don't use our real names here.

Humans are controllable idiots ... so easy to persuade ... at least a certain target market group is. Older farts don't give a crap I'm in that category.

You obviously haven't been off the farm you are still being raised on and no doubt a virgin in many areas.

As an atheist I can really enjoy movies and shows with a religious theme. I love the Antichrist for example.

Its simple minded to think all storylines with religious theme are somehow promoting religion. Some religious stories are interesting fairytale wise. You don't have to believe they are true to enjoy them. In a similar way you don't have to believe in aliens to like alien-themed shows/movies.

Its a goddamn TV Show or Movie. If you are entertained then what does it matter. We don't believe in Superman or a goddamn idiot running around in a Bat Costume. But its entertaining and therefore, I like it. Usually people who complain the most about things are usually afraid about what might happen.

Actually, no, it's not. The last couple of episodes have gotten below 1.5 in the demo, there are LOTS of shows that have done far better. For NBC it's doing pretty good, but still, it's not super high up there in the ratings.

"Religiously-themed" like Constantine and Supernatural, sure.

This was a fantastic show. It's 2018 and I just heard about it and watched the first and only season. Kept me entertained every minute.
