It's not quite over the top and cheesy as Z Nation. But there is a lot of light humor sprinkled throughout. The show has a little bit of everything really.

I think iZombie is really funny.
Ravi in particular is hilarious.
Season 2 is better than Season 1 as they get rid of Liv's family which always bought too much accountability or realism to her zombie problems.
It's a great show and I can't wait for Season 3.

I don't watch Z Nation, sorry.

There is a lot of small humour and big humour, if you know what I mean. Those tiny subtle chuckle moments and gut busting laughter moments. And they're all used pretty well, never taking away from the gravity of a scene or the overall darkness of the show.

Also to add to what Wint3Fir3 said, if you were a fan of Rob Thomas' other show Veronica Mars, there are subtle references to that as well as familiar guest stars, some of which also provides comic relief.
