Tom Hanks Cameo

Did anyone else notice that the officer that almost stepped on Phillipe's accomplice but then was called to eat pizza sounded a lot like Tom Hanks?

reply

It is not Tom Hanks. And it's not his voice for people that say it was. Why dub an actors voice out with anothers?

Did you see The Force Awakens?

reply

It was Tom's voice dubbed over the actor who played the guard.

reply

Could be, that would make a lot more sense

reply

Where did you find this out?

SPOILERS FOR EXTREMELY LOUD AND INCREDIBLY CLOSE

Tom was in that movie, and was in the World Trade Center and got killed in it (his death is not shown, but he did die in it).

reply

Lol

reply

I noticed it. Tried to watch his gait to see if maybe it was Hanks all made-up too, but couldn't really tell due to the lighting.

reply

I thought it was him too but didn't read anything about him being in it.

Come at the king, you best not miss.

reply

Yeah. I reconized his voice when he spoke! Yes! Tom Hanks!

reply

The actor is definitely not him...I just looked at the scene...but it does sound like Hanks.

reply

first two lines not much, final line where he says "now you're talking" did sound like him, in conclusion, it's not him:)

reply

Exactly what I was going to say!!

Visually of course it's clearly not Tom Hanks face (the role/actor is stated as "WTC Rooftop Guard" / Doug Price) but hey Zemeckis has been known to dabble in a bit of CGI now and then ;-)

But then his radio wakes up and the following dialog occurs:
"Zabowski (or something like that) you awake?"
"That's very funny" (sounds noticeably like Tom Hanks)
"Need you to check something down on 37"
"Yeah whatta you got?" (sounds convincingly like Tom Hanks)
"How's about a pepperoni and sausage with extra cheese?"
"Now you're talkin'" (Dead-on match for Tom Hanks!)

Of course it's his voice, and if not the similarity is blatantly intentional.

reply

I've watched that scene a few times, though the voice is similar to Hanks, it's definitely NOT Tom Hanks's voice.

reply

It's De Niro.

reply

It's Michael J. Fox
