I enjoyed the movie as many of you did but it won't be made into a series, at least not without a major re-casting. Constance Wu (Polly) is now on the hit sitcom Fresh Off the Boat.

I agree. I loved the idea of Sliders, and the pilot was great, but it gradually became crap. Parallels could be a great show if done right, on Netflix f ex.

They have done a recast before with Full House they cast 2 Danny's So it can be done. In Bewitched and in Roseanna as well,
I think Fox Digital Studios is making a monumental mistake not producing this as a Netflix series. They would broaden the appeal of this sci-fi internationally by continuing to cast Constance Wu as the multiple clone Polly. There needs to be another multi-network/series character like Det. John Munch in sci-fi/drama/comedy/ and action TV shows or movies. Constance Wu could actually work out well with the multi faceted nature of her abilities and she also appeals to a worldwide audience demographic that will pay dividends by bringing in a global audience. She could also make a guest appearance in FOB as one of the clones to cross-marketing the series.
Mark Hapka, Jessica Rothe and even Eric Jungmann should also return because the necessary acting chemistry is already present. I would recast Yorgo Constantine because of his limited exposure in the movie and get someone older and wiser. The father should be cast based on a closer resemblance to Mark and Jessica. Someone like Lucas North or Rupert Everett would work well and complement an expanded role of the missing mother. If you could clean him up and make him behave more like a scientist/action guy, David Tenet would also bring in a hugh demo globally by pulling in all those TARDIS followers. I would also bring in Sela Ward or Ashley Judd as the missing mom/wife/other being.
This is a playful storyline and the possibilities are endless.

Have you never seen stargate? It was originally a movie and when it got picked up as a series (which lasted for 10 seasons plus 2 spinoffs) it was basically completely re-cast. It's actually not unusual for pilots to recast after the pilot.
