I was fascinated by this picture. Loved every frame of it. When the pigs started their final performance I was convinced this was one of the best if not the best cartoon full feature film I've seen. Then the ape rocked even more! I was in ecstasy! The hedgehog was not on the same level but the inertion kept going. The mouse was truly epic! When the wind from the helicopter escalated him from the stage and he kept singing the finale of the "My way" the movie got its pinnacle. It should have ended there. It would have been a flawless masterpiece. Then this *beep* happened. This ugly elephant went for a go too. It was supposed to be the best performance of all - its the last one and it has to be. And what? Some terrible uncharismatic plain song? The fat animal even started to enjoy herself and jump around so the audience will greet its joyfulness and the finding of herself... What a terrible end. What a shame. Shame on you fat ugly elephant. But twice the shame for the screenwriters.
Honey you need to brush up on your musical vocabulary. The elephant was singing "Don't You Worry About a Thing" by Stevie Wonder. There is nothing plain about it nor the album, Innervisions, which is considered a classic. It ranks in the top 25 of Rolling Stones best albums of ALL TIME.
HOWEVER I do agree about the elephant. Her (Tori Amos's) singing wasn't that great. Her stage fright was irritating as well. When she skulked home after messing up her audition and rehearsal, I mumbled 'stay home Dumbo'! The gorilla should've been the star and the final act.

I honestly agree with OP about the song choice. It's a good song but it's not FINAL PERFORMANCE quality. I wish they would have stuck with the original song, "Dream On" by Aerosmith. That would've been epic as a final performance.
I believe Aerosmith's Dream On was only used to help illustrate the storyline being shown in the trailer. Movie trailers do that sometimes. I don't think it was meant to be performed by one of the characters. Of course we don't for sure if this song was seriously considered for the movie or not. Perhaps it ended up not being a good fit. The actors who voiced the final competitors did their own singing, and if it was going to be used Ash would have been the better character to perform it. Plus in the trailers we would have been seeing a cover sung by the actor instead of the original Aerosmith performance.
Using Dream On somewhere in the movie would have been fine, but I disagree with it being a great final performance for Meena. It would not have suited her sweet and shy personality, and the younger kids in the audience might not appreciate it's edginess. If the filmmakers wanted a feel-good ending, they had to go for something more upbeat.
..Meena is one of the most sweetest caring characters, not annoying at all. Many loved her, they all had flaws and fears, hers was actually realistic, stage fright. It's what made her final performance a knock out! they saved the best for last.
Fat and ugly? Really? It's an elephant! Should it have had the body of a human supermodel? Ridiculous! You're just childishly attaching insults to your negative opinion.
agreed cdm, think there's more "subtext" going on here than OP would be aware of in her post. She's taking part in trashing a character that no doubt, parallels her issues in real life (surely my guess is this person doesn't like or is uncomfortable with larger people---or maybe IS one self-loathing misfit. Maybe also one with serious lack of consideration for those with insecurities & problems. OR again...suffers them herself).
Yeah, could be making mountain out of a mole-hill here but I look at how this post was written & it makes me wonder what's under such clear & nonsensical layer of displeasure.
