Was English Pete summoning Dr. King Schultz?

You know, I couldn't help but notice the comparisons between Oswaldo Mobray and Dr. King Schultz, both in appearance and personality. Assuming both films take place in the same universe, Django takes place pre-Civil War and this film takes place in post-Civil War, perhaps Dr. King Schultz became known or some kind of legend/popular figure, and English Pete decided to adopt his persona in an attempt to throw off Kurt Russell, Sam Jackson & co. to gain their trust? I figure it's the case since Oswaldo is very eloquent just like Schultz was, and when we see the real Oswaldo, English Pete in the flashback after they kill everyone at the haberdashery, he's very uncouth and criminal-like, and it's common for criminals to use cunning tactics to take advantage of people.

"Wasn't Einstein German?"
"Hard to tell from his accent, Russ."

yep. seems as if the part was meant for Waltz but he turned it down because the script was shít. good for him.

I can’t see Waltz as Mobray at all, he’s a cockney thug masquerading as a prim and proper English gentleman, Waltz doesn’t fit the mold, the role was always meant for Roth.

I think Waltz was offered the role of Mexican Bob, who in the original script was a Frenchman, not a Mexican.

Could it be that Chris Waltz will never be able to work with QT again? I mean, his first two times he won an Oscar(supporting) each time. It would be hard to win three in a row. Impossible maybe.

I expect that's why Waltz took no role in The Hateful Eight(QT's first film after Django, which won Waltz an Oscar), but Oswaldo Mobray seems to have been written for him(non-British, had he done it, of course.)

F you, Bilbo.
