Chronic Pain & Sex: Are Her actions realistic?

OK I know she's in Chronic Pain & Aniston mostly does a good job at that, however would she really be interested or even capable of having Sex? 1st with the pool boy and then several times with Nina's husband. If in Chronic Pain I'd guess that's the last thing she'd be interested in or physically capable of. And even if she just lies there and receives the men's attentions without really participating, then it just bothers me that the men involved use her that way. Then of when she attacks Leonard (William H Macy) she appears pretty spry. Just out of character for someone suffering from such severe chronic pain.

Great comments, all of them. Guess we all suffer our afflictions in our own way. Life is full of varied personal experiences. So, this is why we each perceive different things when we watch a movie.

It depends on the pain level and where pain is located , for some it's work to get into comfortable position. My wife and I had problems for years getting together with her back pain and my arm and back. But we still managed to have kids. It's a matter of how bad and can you both enjoy it.

She didn't have sex with Nina's husband. That was made quite clear. He's grieving and in no mood for sex. She didn't want to be alone. I don't even recall the pair kissing in the entire movie. They were doing no more than spooning with their clothes on.

As for the pool guy--she warded him off of missionary and chose the side-by-side spooning position, likely because it hurt the least. She might have wanted the physical closeness, or a chance at an orgasm, or to admire and be wanted by a stud, or even just to know she could still manage sex at all. I don't see a problem there.
