The Orphanage. Which is a film by the same director is a classic in my book. A solid 8 out of 10 and in my top 50 movies released post 2000. Which is why I had big expectations for this one.

But it ended up beening a total garbage that copy/pastes tons of other movies (and whats up with all the giants in films lately The BFG, Pete's Dragon to name a few) throw in ton of cheap CGI which the "modern teen audience" loves so much. Lets also throw in the typical cancer topic while we are at it for the ultimate Oscar BAIT of a film which ends up BEGGING for your sympathy and empathy for its lack in everything.

One of the biggest let downs of the year.

When I saw the thread title "1 out of 10" I thought the exact same thing MMQ1. Some people come on the IMBd and other message boards with the sole intention of trying to stir people up. They get some kind of sick pleasure out of getting other people upset.

I didn't care for this movie either. But I never grade 1 out of ten. You have to look at all categories of a movie. The acting, the writing, the animation, the music, the editing. They would all have to be the worse you have seen to earn a one rating. And this films are very few and far between. Like Manos the hand of Fate. I can see why these boards are going away.

Oh, stop, all of you!

The boards went away because the people at IMDB don't like things that they cannot control (and/or don't bring in money). So they blame it on us - the IMDB community.

Don't internalize their stupid (and shortsighted) excuses for closing down our community (trolls and all!).

The best thing is that we have found other places to go. The sad thing is that so much was lost.

Anyway - that's it for me for now.
