I just saw this movie and although it didn't blow my mind, I still liked it. The fact that it was set in the 60's was cool too.
Even though the ending was a normal ending without any cliffhanger that could betray a planned sequel:
1- do you feel like they should/could do a sequel? (I mean we didn't actually see Auggie and Chuck die per say... so they could already exploit this idea)
2- what would be your idea for a sequel.. (a continuation of the first film? different characters with a whole new story? )
I just really liked the vibe of it... it would suck if that was just a stand alone movie.
There is a sequel already confirmed with the same director attached.

Well, they did leave you with a continuing storyline (not so much a Cliffhanger, but a lead in into a sequel). And (did you watch the ending? Not being sarcastic, honestly asking because they mention your first idea) Stella says they are searching the book for a way to bring Chuck and Auggie back.
A sequel without Stella...or at least explaining what happened to her between sequels, would be a little off considering she has the book in her possession. Unless there are more books in the house (but they refer to it constantly as her book, singular, implying Sarah only has one book of stories).
"There is a sequel already confirmed with the same director attached." Great news !

Well to be honest I did watch it until the end but I was distracted. I only remember seeing Stella in the car with her dad and, I think it was Chuck's sister.
I agree with you about the book. But also, I feel Stella is sort of the central character. It's not really obvious in the beginning of the movie but she ends up being, I think. Plus she's interesting too. Her past, the guilt because of her mother, she wants to be a writer... he character was richer than the others. So I'd like to see her again in the sequel for sure.
Yeah, I can't see them moving ahead without her. If not as the main character, at least a supporting role. Maybe things start happening to someone else and Stella helps with her knowledge that she has gained so far. I must say this movie surprised me and was better than I expected.
