Question about the Furher...

In this alternative timeline, is Hitler still the ruler or is there a new guy/girl at charge?

He was killed by B.J Blazkowicz (protagonist) in the original Wolfenstein, but the fact they they never say his name makes you wonder if he really died.

But, the New Order is a sequel to Wolfenstein (2009), wich was a seuqel to Return to Castle Wolfenstein, wich is a remake of the original. And in this timeline, i dont think BJ killed him.

Unless i'm mistaking, and NEW ORDER really is the sequel to the original Wolf3D and not the new timeline.

Except that Blazkowicz wasn't in the original Wolfenstein...

Even more so, this is a sequel and soft reboot to Wolfenstein (2009) which was a hard reboot to the entire franchise. So anything that happened before the 2009 game has nothing to do with this one.

Hitler's name is mentioned several times in the game.
The guards say "Heil Hitler" numerous times in the 1960 timeline and he is even mentioned in the newspaper cut outs you can find.

Maybe not in the original original Wolfenstein (Castle Wolfenstein and Beyond Castle Wolfenstein), but from Wolfenstein 3D onwards, Blazkowicz is the player's character... and Hitler is killed already in Wolfenstein 3D, episode 3.

Unfortunately Machine Games retconned Wolfenstein 3D, as well as removed their Wolfenstein games from the id Software Doomverse, which originally linked B.J., to Doomguy through Commander Keen. Machine Games decided to make B.J., have two daughters instead, so his blood line ends there and he never becomes the great grandfather of Doomguy.

Totally sucks, right?

reply

Just because Machine Games don't recognize B.J.'s son as legitimate it don't mean nothin'.

reply

I agree with you.

There were several pieces of newspapers and letters that indirectly referred to Adolf Hitler in the game. If you read all of them carefully, they reveal Hitler is in fact still alive and fuhrer of nazi-earth

reply

Oh good. Someone to kill in the sequel!

reply

Im up with that.

Hitler actually gets a mention in one of the cut scenes. It's when Bobby and BJ are driving to the London Nautica. The guard who stops them says 'Heil Hitler'.
