Time for a black Peter Pan?

People are touting Idris Elba as the next Bond, what about Peter Pan?

reply

Frankly, the next Peter Pan should clearly be an offended college student yelling "safe space" for at least 30 minutes of the movie, demanding Hook gets fired as the captain of the Jolly Roger, must apologize for offending Peter by letting him cut his hand of and feed it to the crocodile, because he knew he was invading his safe space, and now he's traumatized from all the blood and cutting he had to do.

reply

J.M. Barrie based Peter Pan on his older brother who died as a child and was described by his parents as "the boy who never grew up."

Back story problems if he suddenly became black.

reply

Why does he have to be black. That's kind of racist.

Why not Hispanic?

reply

Peter Pan is kind of tanned how he is, flying around in the sun and all. To make the audience realize he's hispanic the producers will have to show him acting like a cholo with a mexican accent and eating menudo, etc.

reply

While Peter is traditionally white Barrie actually never states what race he is. Only thing mentioned is that he has all his milk teeth.
