Was at NYCC, ask me anyrhing

Saw 5 or so additional scenes. Ask me anything, I'll be happy to answer.

What were the fight scenes like?

Yes, this is the question: is Finn reasonably convincing as a martial artist, or do they have to cut the footage into tiny little bits to make him look acceptable?

You know about that technique. LOL
I'm sure as soon as the stunt double I mean Danny puts on his mask all will be fine. 😁

reply

He is pretty damn convincing.

Fluid, quick, and entertaining.

What style of martial arts would be your guess?
Which martial action movie does this most resemble?
Trampoline and high wire, Steven Seagal, Ip Man, Jaa,...?
And thanks for all the intel you have provided.

reply

I am no martial arts expert, the genre is quite foreign to me. I can say that it looks very fluid, it reminded me a bit of that video of (I believe it was Bruce Lee) fighting off that whole room of people.

In the trailer Danny was using big circular movements and open palm strikes, from what I could see.

One thing I didn't like about Daredevil season 2 was that DD's fighting style shifted away from the more kung fu moves he seemed to be using in s1 to much more boxing-orientated punches and acrobatic somersault-kicks (don't know the real name for it, but it seemed to consist of a forward somersault ending in a kick that drops down on the opponent using the momentum from the roll); I figured the reason for the change was to make DD's fighting-style distinct from IF's.

I think someone mentioned the fight choreographer for Iron Fist was the same one that worked on Marco Polo. Not seen it myself, but the fighting style in that is probably a pretty good indicator for IF.

How was Finn's American accent in the scenes you saw? I have only previously seen him in roles where he used his English accent, but what I heard of his American accent at the end of the trailer sounded promising, so I am hoping that came across well in the material you saw.

Hogarth is nameddopped

Okay, this got me psyched. I love Hogarth and Carrie-Anne Moss. I wish Scott buck and his writer's team will give Hogarth her own storyline in the show (other than cutthroat lawyering) considering the character has close ties to the Rands and it would be great to see hr making Joy and Ward Meachum's lives become a living hell.

In addition to the question I asked above about Finn's American accent, I also wanted to ask if music in any form is used in any of the scenes you saw, and if so, what style of score the show is using?

reply

I can't remember he name of it but in one scene it seemed a bit upbeat.

reply

Thanks for the comment on the music. Do you have any more details about Finn's accent? I saw there was a post after my earlier question that had been deleted and wasn't sure if you had mentioned that before it was removed. I didn't see any comments about the accent work one way or the other on Twitter, but I took that as a good sign, as I figured if it didn't work then people would have mentioned that, so I assume it must sound good. What were your thoughts?
