Kristen Stewart is painful to watch, she seems like she hates acting yet

continues to force herself to do for some reason.

She seems like she's in physical pain in every scene. Like she's fighting her tics and awkwardness and losing every time.

She obviously can't shed her own persona and inhabit a role. She should quit.

I agree. This movie would have been an 8, but Kristen painful acting and farfetched supportive role, make it a 7.

Yes your so right..and all the actors, actresses (who have won numerous awards), agents, manager, producers, directors who surround her & work with her everyday...are wrong. How absurd. "Any fool can criticise, condemn and complain...most fools do"

You do realize that it's very rare for anyone in Hollywood to speak negatively about anyone else, especially people they have worked with before, right? The only person that I can think of that has done that is Megan fox and her career has never quite recovered.

reply

Thought she was good in this to be honest...she is an easy trolling target

Mumbles ruins any film she's in. They should give any role she wants to Jennifer Lawrence instead.

Beans are evil. Bad, bad beans.

reply

I absolutely agree with the mumbling. I had never seen Kristen before but when I was watching the last scene with her delivering the speech from her play, I thought "you'll never make a stage actor" and I was thinking of the character. Then I suddenly realized that she is an actor in real life! The inability to enunciate and project your voice will not carry you far in the theater but I guess it works OK in the movies. Still - I didn't understand a word she said. But she looked as if she was probably acting the part quite well.

reply

I didn't think she was nearly as bad in this as she was in other films... but yeah, she still leaves a lot to be desired. She had a few decent scenes in Still Alice... but she just keeps coming off as too vacant to really sell whatever role she's playing. Thank God the Twilight films are done at least.

This is true. She wasn't as bad in this as she is in some of her other films. I actually thought she was fine up until the beach scene with Moore when she reverted to her awkward-nervous-muttering-tic routine that she's infamous for. That was basically all she did throughout the entirety of Adventureland; in this, she was at least able to contain herself a little.

reply

I thought it was laughable that her character was a theatre actress. Broadway would've folded a long time ago if its' talent was as lifeless and lacklustre as K.S.

reply

I usually agree but actually thought she was better than usual in this. The role called for a step slightly above her usual one dimensional character.

reply

I really wish you losers would get the f off Kristin Stewart's case.

reply

I bet u this Kristen something would stare at cameras while being photographed with a nice outfit on but in her head she would be running some dirty swearing words. No class, much like the poster above. That's her kind of fan base [ see above ]. No morals either, if she wants to have sex with a married man while his wife is pregnant, she would with no hesitation.

reply

I'm not a fan, just a casual observer, and you trolls make me sick!

Yes you should be sick. By now, can't get out of bed , so keep dreaming you're her same sex lover. : D

Them's the facts

reply

She was a terrible choice for this. she cant seem to get out of playing herself instead of her character role.

reply

So why were her reviews so good?

Because she was playing a talentless actress - it's the role she was born to play!

Seriously I thought she was OK in this and great in "Adventureland"

This.

My problem with Kristen is that sometimes I see her in the role, instead of the actual character. That happened here. I felt like I was watching the real life Kristen Stewart and not Lydia. The dress and mannerisms were basically just Kristen. I was actually thinking Kristen probably had a strong influence on her character. She was written as rebellious, which is basically how Kristen's real life persona seems (big tomboy, doesn't care about much, awkward). I have seen her in other movies where she was better (The Runaways, Into the Wild). Here all I could see was the actress.
