Just from the dumb clips that make up the trailer I can't see a reason to actually watch this.
I'm going to go on a limb here and say this movie is going to suck. I don't know how this movie got made or why it's being advertised so heavy (maybe cause it's getting to the slow time) or why these two are in it.
Since "these two are in it," there's no way I'm not going to give it a try. I thoroughly enjoyed Adventureland, believing they had great chemistry together -- and can do it again. If I'm wrong, at least our town theater has great popcorn.
Rest in peace, Roger Ebert. You were the best.

shareI can take or leave 'stoner' movies but this grabbed my attention because I'm a sucker for a good action comedy plus Jessie seems to be absolutely killing it lately and Miss Stewart is better than most people give her credit for.
So yep. I'll see it.

shareIt looks like it might be fun, and I really enjoy Jesse Eisenberg. Kristen Stewart impressed me quite a bit in CLOUDS OF SILS MARIA, so I'd like to see more from her. Haven't looked that closely at who else is in this, but I am a fan of John Leguizamo, so that's a plus. As someone who tends to see mostly small-ish, character-driven, 'art house' movies (and who sees more live theater than movies of any kind, in total), I like the idea of getting out of my usual sandbox.
Multiplex: 100+ shows a day, NONE worth watching. John Sayles' latest: NO distribution. SAD.
It looks like a fun movie. Nothing else besides Agent 47 and American Ultra are opening this week so I'm going for American Ultra because Agent 47 will be terrible "it's a movie based on video games" we all know those are always terrible.

but the first hitman movie wasn't bad, just didn't make a ton of money. This is the second one so it couldn't have been that bad.
It's rated as 6.3 on imdb which is slightly lower than what i would expect for a game movie this one was much better than the others and I'd give it at least a 7-7.5
it was made for peanuts: 24mil which is surprising to me because it didn't look like a cheaply made movie
gross: nearly 40mil
it's not a blockbuster but surely that's a win and should carry more weight than other video game franchises and re-boots.
for a 24mil budget AND being based on a video game and all the horrible game movies that have been released; heck i would go so far to even push it past a 7.5 rating just on my scale if i were to give some sort of a curve (which i don't).
I'm not a huge fan of the games, only played the original agent 47 and hitman 2 but idk if I HAD to choose I'd lean towards the Hitman Movie but everyone is entitled to their opinion for sure.
American Ultra just looks so dumb, If it's actually good that would be a bigger surprise to me than if Agent 47 was good but if it were bad (Agent 47 aka Hitman 2) I'd be a lot less disappointed considering it is a movie based on a game which I guess is a little bit hypocritical but I can't think of any movie Kristen Stewart has ever been in that was actually good and I wouldn't classify Adventureland as "Good" but only less bad than the other crap she has been in.
Still Alice was a good movie with Kristen Stewart. Eventually I'll see both movies since there wasn't anything intresting released last week, this week I'll be able to watch two movies.

Love Jesse & Kristen together again! It will be fun watching Jesse get high and go into action, like he said he is going to get his gf. And of course Kristen steps up an dives into each role. She said it was fun and working with 'Jessup' was so much fun.
I'm sure this film will surpass my expectations!
