No, we're just tired of hearing outsiders telling us how our home is. Yes, a huge megacity like London is a melting pot, especially given it's the capital of the most recent former empire. So yeah, London has more Muslims than many more provincial parts of Europe, big bloody deal.
We all live with people of all sorts of faiths inn London and then we hear increasing amounts of complete bollocks from (chiefly) Americans about how we're being over-run; as if our neighbours many of us have grown up with are no longer proper human beings but some sort of swarm we should be afraid of and not treat like people.
Apparently the majority in the UK feel differently than you do. Maybe you're a Muslim?

shareIn all fairness, the only ones complaining about London being overrun is by....Londoners. I see interviews, news reports, etc that exhibit concern there is too strong a Muslim population in the city. It's not the religion itself these people are worried about. It's the brutal Shariah-like laws they bring with them.
Again, this isn't coming from Americans. It's coming from Londoners, at a LOT of them.
BTW, does a British birth certificate list a religion? I always figured you were born a particular sex and race, but your religious beliefs were established by how you were raised. I wonder what would happen if a Muslim realized their newborn son's birth certificate said "Orthodox Jew" or "Christian". Would that warrant an honor killing? Or maybe a Roman Catholic noticed their daughter's certificate listed "Protestant"?
I am a Londoner born and raised. Seriously, most Londoners don't have a problem with Muslims because we rub shoulders with them every day: they're co-workers, school friends and family friends to all of us. Most of the Muslims here are born in England anyway. They're culturally British, they have the same accents and similar attitudes. If London was so anti-Muslim as you suggest, we wouldn't have just elected a Muslim mayor and Londoners would have been swept up in anti-immigrant rhetoric and voted for Brexit (which it voted against by 60%).
You have no idea what you're talking about and you're projecting the worst aspects of societies in much, much poorer and illiberal countries onto all Muslims in Britain.
The majority of the UK is less educated and way more close minded
Not ALL the UK - God forbid, it's a great country - just the majority
We are Londoners and are much more open, international and exposed to different cultures every single day we step outside our door
As a result of that, we are better off in every sense - cultural, human, financial - you can think of than the rest of the country
