I loved it. I've never read the book but I enjoyed the '94 version, and this version, with its non-linear narrative, works extremely well. Definitely worth watching if you like the story.
shareI agree. I enjoyed it very much, although I would have enjoyed it with 2 or 3 fewer time jumps. I also own the 90s version— one of the few films I watch every year. I think the newest version is a nice addition to the canon. And like someone else pointed out in another thread, I believe classics should be re-adapted each generation.
shareFrankly the 1994 movie had the perfect cast. Winona Ryder, Kirsten Dunst, Claire Danes, Samantha Mathis, Susan Sarandon, and fucking Christian Bale. This movie feels like someone using popular book to promote herself with a bunch of preachy woke dialog. We didn't need a new one when it was done better many times before.
