Ogre question

I don't really care about spoilers (as I have not seen the movie yet) or I wouldn't be asking this question.

However it has come to my attention that a lot of people say this creature raped the princess. Now is this actually something that is made known (even if it's not shown) in the movie or are people just assuming he did(like people tend to do jumping to conclusions and all) because he kept her locked up?

Note: this wont ruin the movie for me either way it goes. Just want a perspective on the things I've been reading.

Please don't say "Watch the movie" as I plan to as soon as possible, and since I'm off work tomorrow hopefully that is when it will happen.

Considering the ogre was clearly treating her as his possession due to her being unwillingly forced as his wife, all on the same day, he retreats to his cave and therefore believes it is his right to have sex with her. This is shown in the scene where he throws her on the bed on that same day and she is clearly petrified and the screen blacks out - basically that is an obvious film tactic where you don't see the rape happening but the disheartened grim feeling knowing that it did happen. Other message replies have been confused on thinking the later scenes with him placing his arm on her chest as he lies asleep was the supposed rape. How many times he forced himself to have sex with her? We never know the answer to that question but I would like to believe that it was that one time, due to "consummation of marriage".

If there was a sequel, who knows, maybe she ends up having the ogre's baby.

Don't know if you have seen the film yet, but I watched it on Netflix last night. Yes the Ogre Rapes the princess, a scene shows him forcing her to his bed, he gets on top of her as she is sobbing and trying to get away, scene ends. Pretty obvious what this scene is meant to say.

Decent film, I enjoyed it.
