What a shame

I thought I spent enough at Tower Records in San Jose between 1985 and 1992 to keep them afloat! I swear I was addicted to CDs! Will be watching for this.

Such a great film, the nostalgia was through the roof. I could totally relate to the staff because I briefly worked at a Virgin Records Megastore in the 90's, a great assortment of knowledgeable and fun people with similar interests. The casual drop-ins by an artist, some would perform, some would shop, some would hang out in the break room with you! I wish it had lasted longer.

Buying online now is not the same as learning in person about what you're buying from someone in the store. It may be more convenient and faster now, but that tangibility factor is missing. Collecting, holding, having that music in your hands is still something I need. Sad to see all the music stores and videos stores disappear.

I only got to visit one Tower Records store, it was in Torrance, CA. It was world famous and my first chance to see one, my friend and I were in there for quite a long time. Somewhere I still have that yellow and red bag!

There has been an awakening. Have you felt it?
