Dexter is only 20, so will Original Sin have about 10 seasons?

Dexter is 20 in "Dexter Original Sin", which takes place in 1993.

The first season of "Dexter" takes place in 2006, so that means Original Sin can have a maximum of 13 seasons!

And I noticed IMDb listed "Dexter New Blood" as a "TV Mini Series", whereas "Dexter Original Sin" is called a "TV Series", and "Dexter Resurrection" is also called a "TV Series".

So "Dexter Original Sin" will have multiple seasons (maybe 10 seasons or 13 seasons), and "Dexter Resurrection" should have several seasons (anyone's guess), because I think the writers will be too scared to kill him off (plus they have no idea how to anyway), after the threatening backlash those writers faced in 2013 and 2022!

And the thing to remember about Dexter, is that he's supposed to be smarter and more disciplined than all the other serial killers.
So it makes no sense for him to be caught.

Remember there was a real life serial killer named Samuel Little, and he confessed to killing 93 people (60 of them confirmed by the FBI) between 1970 and 2005.

So Dexter's killing career should last at least 35 years (which would make him 55-years-old, and that would be in 2028), and maybe a lot longer, because he's probably smarter than Samuel Little.

You're working on the assumption that each season would be 1 year in Dexter's life.
That's not necessarily how it has to work.
Take "Lost" for example. It had multiple seasons where only a few months past by plot-wise.

Yeah I can't remember how many years each season of Dexter (2006-2013) represented, but seemed like a year per season.
Seems logical too, because if you have kids involved (Astor and Cody, and Harrison) you can't stray too much from real time.

You aint kidding! They have no idea how to do it right, may as well keep him alive.

Plus there's no reason for Dexter to be caught or killed anyway.
Stallone never killed off Rambo, despite ending the franchise.
I hate when writers assume that fans want "closure" or whatever.
Fans might want to remember Dexter as a winner, I know I do.

I think they all start as "TV series", if cancelled after one season it would become "Mini Series".

Though I doubt this show will end in one season.

Probably true in other cases, though I remember "Dexter New Blood" was listed as a "TV Mini Series" even before it was released, because I was checking its IMDb page a lot.

Some are per-determined to finish in one season, so yes, those would be listed as mini series right away. But I have seen TV series turned into mini series before.
