He is not dead

I don't think Wes is dead. I think the body is a look alike. Annalise would do anything to protect Wes; he is the one who killed Sam, he shot Annalise and he is now implicated in the death of his birth father (Wallace Mahoney). They made a big point this season in saying over and over that all they do is protect Wes.
I think instead of taking the blame himself, Frank found a body or killed someone and planted him in the house, then started the fire. Frank owes it to Annalise to again help her and he and Bonnie know how important Wes is to Annalise. I thought about Wes faking his own death too, but I think he loves Laurel too much to leave her. I think it's all part of a twisted plan by Annalise, Bonnie and Frank. I don't think Wes faked it and left town on his own....not without Laurel.

@di: Wishful thinking. How I wish he was still alive too.

Wes is dead, get used to it.

For people that are using The Blacklist analogy. We never actually saw her body in a dead type state. With Wes, we did.

reply

yes we did

it's never Joan Van Ark- Marge Simpsons

@NY: HUH?!! I have accepted it! Please DO NOT tell me what I should accept and what I shouldn't.

He was an enjoyable character as other Wes fans would agree. We CAN and WILL feel hurt about what happened!

Maybe he is really dead and it's some new psychological finding that 'people are going to watch and hope, believing a character is alive even when they are not. therefore it is a way to keep the audience guessing!?' They did it in 'Game of thrones' 'Wentworth'. Haha!! I am so hurt that he is dead too. But Shonda Rhimes is so clever. I am waiting to see what is going to happen next.

reply

@sm: Ok. You entitled to believe and think what you want to.

reply

Yes, but Shonda is a very clever woman, who always goes the extra mile to bait and switch for maximum dramatic effect.

reply

hahaha. A lookalike? This truly cheered me up today lol

reply

NO way is Alfred Enoch walking away from this show. This is an elaborate plot led by Frank, Nate and I think Laurel is in on it as well. Annalise not so much. Bonnie, maybe.
What the hell did Laurel mouth when she saw Wes on the news pronounced dead? She was definitely not in shock IMO.

I think they wanted the D.A. to get off his @$$ once and for all. Though it is illegal to fake your death, I believe he'll be using some fake name...maybe "Christoph" will be resurrected.

reply

this theory made me so happy because it is plausible. let's wait and c.

reply

I think he's alive purely because he's the main male character in this show and most of the plot always centers on him plus he called someone that night asking for help and we still don't know who it was. They wouldn't show that phone call unless it was part of some grander scheme.

reply

It's possible. Everything is possible.

Really?

Your theory has made me feel a lot better, Diana, as I couldn't face the thought that Wes had been murdered and burnt in the fire. I mean to say - what would be the motive? Anyway, time will tell, but thanks for your reassuring words, which make a lot of sense to me!
