He is not dead

I don't think Wes is dead. I think the body is a look alike. Annalise would do anything to protect Wes; he is the one who killed Sam, he shot Annalise and he is now implicated in the death of his birth father (Wallace Mahoney). They made a big point this season in saying over and over that all they do is protect Wes.
I think instead of taking the blame himself, Frank found a body or killed someone and planted him in the house, then started the fire. Frank owes it to Annalise to again help her and he and Bonnie know how important Wes is to Annalise. I thought about Wes faking his own death too, but I think he loves Laurel too much to leave her. I think it's all part of a twisted plan by Annalise, Bonnie and Frank. I don't think Wes faked it and left town on his own....not without Laurel.

i just wish that dysfunctional relationship with annalise got explored a little bit more... + what is the point of the mahoney plot if Wes is not there anymore...

Exactly!

Wes is dead. He's a goner. You all will deal. It'll be okay.

I think they are going to do the same thing they did on The Blacklist. Megan Boone (Elizabeth Keen) was assumed dead, but in several episodes it is learned differently. I know episode one when Annalise kept screaming NO NO, etc. I knew it had to be Wes. A very good season!

reply

Wes is really dead. He will be back only in flashbacks during the back half of the season.

reply

He's dead. I'm in denial as well :(

There doesn't even have to be a body double. There was a case a few years ago where this man was dead and put in the morgue and everything. Had an out of body experience and then found himself awaken in his body as it was taken out of the cabinet. The same could be done with Wes if the writers were to do that but um yeah, I don't see it happening. But who knows what they'll do. I like for him to be dead since it's just REAL. People you care about are just ripped from you like that.

reply

Yes, of course. This is a Latin-American telenovela: people find out about random twins at the last minute and dead characters come back to life when it's revealed that the arse-pulled twin is ACTUALLY the victim and not the beloved character himself... And then Laurel will be pregnant with both Wes and Frank's babies at the same time but Michaela's evil mother will interfere with their love triangle because she wants the dashing black dude for her own daughter - daughter who, in turn, is not in love with the dashing Wes, but with the forbidden fruit that is Connor. While still dating Asher. Because Connor is gay even though his lover - we find out on the next episode! - is dying of a brain tumor that he had ignored thinking that his symptoms were actually caused by the HIV positivity. They were not, Oliver, and now you are dying fast...

But wait! Rebecca's back as well!

As it turns out, she also had a twin sister and the two had just swapped identities because Rebecca wanted her sis to experience REAL friendship, like the type she'd found in the Keating home. But alas, things took a turn for the worst and when Rebecca saw what her so-called "friends" had done to her sister, she fled the country and only returned after changing her face through surgery and also having a sex-change operation. Rebecca now goes by the name Roberto and her biggest wish is asking Bonnie to marry her only to leave her at the altar - a sick and twisted telenovela way of avenging your broken heart and dead sister.

Go Rebecca! Uhmmm... Roberto!

OH MY GAAAAHHHHH!!!! This is GOLD! I'm so annoyed with these Wes is still alive theories. They're sooo... *sigh*

reply

Hmmmmnn! I find your theory intriguing - if not totally convincing. It would seem that you have either been spending too much time watching 'telenovelas' OR have a bright future ahead of you as a script-writer! Be that as it may, your post is very amusing.

reply

I'm not a firm believer that Wes is dead (I think he faked his death to frame Annalise) but i have thought for awhile his character's time was up.

reply

You think Wes found someone that looks EXACTLY like him, killed that person and then set them on fire, all just to get Annalise in trouble? Even though, if he wanted to get Annalise in trouble, all he had to do was snitch on her like he was already set up to do?

reply

For me it didnt even look like Wes when they showed the body.. maybe its just me.

reply

Not only did it look like Wes, but there was a news broadcast showing his picture. They don't do that unless there is confirmation of the victim's identity.

All insults will be interpreted as an admission that you cannot contribute to the discussion.

reply

Aww! Now I don't know what to say! I cannot disagree with your two pertinent arguments supporting the theory that Wes has been murdered, though.

reply

If you didn't think it looked like Wes when they showed the body, then it's just you and you are really sick. Lol! Just kidding. I hope it's not Wes. But it definitely looks like him.
