No, it's an adaption of the autobiographical graphic novel by Phoebe Gloeckner. And it was previously adapted for the stage by the director/screenwriter Marielle Heller in 2010.

How on earth did you come to the conclusion that it was about Anne Frank? What about this movie lead you to believe that? I am trying to understand your thought process...

Oh, can't you see the comedy-gold potential of the parody possibilities crossing the two together?

Beyond that this thread is just another of example that "yes, there actually are stupid questions", and teaching students "21st century skills" includes teaching kids how to ask a question in a search query.
