You can't really look at it from the perspective of an embittered male virgin (or FORMERLY embittered male virgin who eventually found someone). There are a lot of women and some men (definitely some gay and bi men) who just go from one relationship to another when they're young without ever having the healthy experience of being alone. Being alone is healthy from the perspective of THIS character. It's not meant to be a statement on the human condition, or even on all women.
As for the other objection, I agree more. This would be considered unforgivably vile and perverted if it were made by a male director or told from the POV of the older male. The problem there though is not THIS movie. A lot of people seem to think males only watch movies like this because we all secretly want to sodomize teenage girls. However, just because I like watching something IN A MOVIE, doesn't necessarily mean I want to do it personally in real life. I like violence in movies, but I'm not violent in real-life. And I enjoy all kinds of sexually messed-up movies (including these kind of "lolita" movies), but it doesn't mean I'm sexually messed up in real life. Both the uptight feminists and male moralists GENERALLY need to relax a little about stuff like this. But you shouldn't assume the female fans of Phoebe Glockner are the SAME group of militant feminists that would have a fit about a movie like this if it were made from the male perspective. I imagine they're pretty cool actually.
