One note characters and repetitive jokes (4 eps in)
It's kinda like we're getting the pilot over and over again. This was kind of typical of decades of early sitcoms, especially in the first season. But the formula has been greatly elevated since the 90s. I'm not sure who this is supposed to appeal to. It's not properly old school, it's nothing in the vein of the other two shows. It's not bad but the real problem is lead actor Montana Jordan (George) ain't figured it out yet, this traditional style sitcom. He was terrific on Young Sheldon. I think they need to make his character more like Al Bundy. High on his own supply, so to speak. More cocksure for no comprehensible reason. The show needs an anchor hook like that. I can't stop thinking about My Name Is Earl while watching it. Much the same stuff but so superior.
