I didn't hate it

I thought the first 15 minutes or so were great. After that, not so good. It didn't seem to know whether it was a Scooby-Doo movie or a Hanna-Barbera Universe movie. But there were moments I enjoyed, and some things certainly made me laugh. I liked Mark Wahlberg (channeling his inner Ryan Reynolds) as Blue Falcon, and Jason Isaacs did a great job as Dick Dastardly. And the animation was fantastic.

I think Zac Efron, Amanda Seyfried, and Gina Rodriguez did a reasonable job with the voices. Even Will Forte (who was always going to suffer most by comparison) sounded a bit better to me as it went on. It was strange hearing Scooby talk so much and so clearly, but I guess otherwise some of the jokes wouldn't have been possible (I laughed out loud at the 'Ikea' exchange!).

Blue Falcon and his crew struck me as the poor man's Guardians of the Galaxy (not a criticism), with Falcon as Quill, Dee Dee as Gamora, and Dynomutt as Rocket (complete with snarky asides). Captain Caveman felt a bit unnecessary, and I'd have been happy if they'd cut him completely. There were a ton of Scooby/general HB references that I caught (loved the Hex Girls poster, and the arcade games) - and on looking at IMDb, a ton more that I didn't.

An HB Universe could be cool. But as a die-hard Scooby-Doo fan, I also want a proper, Scooby-centred Scoob! 2.
