This isn't looking for a converstation about whether or not the first one or this one is better, I simply want to know whether this is a direct continuation of the first or if it is a new story with the same killer. I'm writing a paper on the Soska sisters work and just want to know if this film stands on its own. Thanks.

shareI saw the first awhile ago and don't remember much. This one literally takes place right after - like Halloween and Halloween 2. It does a decent job of catching you up with some flashbacks but I would've watched the first again had it been on Prime like this was.

I didn’t see the first one. I saw this one during the Covid-19 quarantine. Had no problems enjoying this one
