Bautista = Tong Po?
Is Bautista even remotely Asian? I honestly don't know, but he certainly doesn't look it...
And does he have any experience with kickboxing or Muay Thai?

Yeah he is Half but still looks it and the actor does not have to be Thai just Southeast Asian descent which Batista is. A Filipino actor playing a Thai character is no different than a white Brit or Aussie actor playing a White American character.

But that's just it. He doesn't look it. He looks more white than Southeast Asian.
Keanu Reeves has Chinese ancestry, but that doesn't mean he could play a Chinese character.
That looks like a white man to you?
Very good. But brick not hit back!share
Why are you guys complaining about this? The original Tong Po also was not Asian! Michel Qissi who portrayed the original Po is from Moroccan-Belgian origin!
shareOk lots of people here saying he has the right "body look" to play Tong Po. It seems like i'm the only one who has a problem with this. Batista looks like a body builder. Kickboxers are lean and muscular. Tong Po, the original, was as big as a kickboxer gets. A guy as big as Batista just doesn't exist in that world. He would be very slow and clunky. I don't buy it.
shareAgree, Batista looks more like a body builder than a Kick boxer, even if he's got some grappling and stand up experience. The reason you don't get over muscled combat sports fighters is because they gas in a round. Too many muscles and not enough oxygen and not enough athleticism to get high kicks off and not quick enough to evade strikes etc.
Saying that my favorite Kickboxer is Jérôme Le Banner

He's a monster and about the biggest guy in Kickboxing/K1 that's had a successful career. He's done some acting too and was one scary dude in Babylon A.D. not sure he could be transformed into Tong Po mind.
Shame about Scott Adkins, great martial artist and not too shabby actor as well. He was excellent in the Undisputed movies (looking forward to the new one) and also enjoyed him in Ninja: Shadow of a Tear & Assassination Games.
