First movie I ever walked out on!!

I tried. I new it was first person. I knew the camera was going to spin and shake. I didn't know I was going to throw up in my popcorn.
Not enough of a story line to deal with the first person view. It gets old very fast. Stripe club scene halfway through I believe was only there to keep men in their seats. I would not recommend anyone to see this one.

I was tempted to walk out. Like you said, it got old real fast. It would've been better as a short. I did like the ending though.

"Kids are so evil! Why do we keep making them??"

reply

Same here, I went to leave and then realised that I was in my own home!

Not to bad for a Blair which style FPS but have to agree it gets old very quickly.

Still very funny in parts.

I went to see it in the D-Box motion seats. It took me about 20 minutes to get used to the movie (up until Slick Dmitry gets shot). I wanted to puke before that scene. My girlfriend looked at the floor for about half the movie.

Hardcore Henry in D-Box seats? You sir are a brave man! I salute you!

reply

Ha that's awesome! Wish they had those round here.. Movie is a truly wild ride.

In my theatre tonight for the late screening, there were maybe 15 people. One couple left after 15 minutes and never returned. I had to look away numerous times to give my brain time to settle. I love horror movies (Tarantino gore especially) so it was the camerawork making me worry I might vomit.

An autistic man certainly enjoyed it, jumping out of his seat and throwing his arms into the air every time he got excited by the violence. He would yelp and comment and eagerly rock his head forward and back any time there was any music playing. Hard to ignore in an almost empty theatre.

Not too many folks in my cinema either.

I saw it on my vacation in Las Vegas (as I mention in another thread reply) in the United Artists theatre on the strip near the Coke/M&M museaums and MGM Hotel.

I enjoyed the novelty of this but saw a few guys laughing and then left.,.I kinda said.."too much lol". This should be in IMAX or 3-D. I think many more movies should be like it (imagine, say, Fast and the Furious done like this!)

Amanda Bynes is hot and Lindsay Lohan is not.

I'm not autistic I was "rolling".

You were expecting a story line in a movie like this??? That's funny.

reply

After 15 minutes i was done with the FPS gimmick.

The violence was cool, but the FPS stuff got old real fast.

I now know why DOOM and Strange days kept their First Person Sequences to 5 min or less.

reply

This has "Netflix" written all over it.
No way I'd pay to see it in a theater.
Not even if the theater serves (good) beer.

reply

Bull s""t, boso! You'd be there for the beer.

Boom.

Story line was basic, it was a popcorn movie. If it wasn't for the FPS element it would never have got picked up by a major studio, it's a decent gimmick and more enjoyable than Batman vs Superman.

I left just after the strip club scene too, not because of any sickness though, but because it was so damn boring.
Sharlto Copley was annoying, the jokes werent funny and the action wasnt even interesting as some children on here are claiming it to be.
Crank 10 years ago done a much better job of melee action..... Snoozefest Henry is just boring.

reply

Considering most of the best action happened AFTER the strip club scene I can see how you'd think it was boring. The story was bland with a bit of satisfaction in the ending, but you shot yourself in the foot by being impatient.

reply

lol exactly :D
