Really? You want an Oscar performance for a childish story? First, he was not an actor, he was chosen cause he was a look alike for the orignal Sabu actor... which was the best Jungle Book version circa 1940. Did Judy Garland win an Oscar for 'Wizard of Oz", and she certainly acted very good as a 12 year old when she was over 15 at that time.

shareAgree. I really like the book. It was one of my favorite books when I was a child. And I wanted to like it but turned off after 10 min. The boy couldn't act at all. A huge disappointment.
