Bear, Panther, and Seven Wolves can't take down a tiger?

There were even Rhinos there! Great movie, but the animals could have done so much more. Would have been a better ending having the entire Jungle kill the tiger instead of what we got.

They should've made the panther a jaguar

Panther just isn't intimidating or badass like a jaguar is

Yeah, but the guy who wrote the book had a very different idea from the movie.

n the book, Mowgli has the wolves drive a herd of buffalo to trample the tiger where he could not escape.

Dude... Panthers are exactly a jaguar (or, in this case, as they are in India, a leopard) that happens to be black!

Panthers ARE jaguars or leopards that "suffer" from melanism.

Feel ignorant now? That's because you are.

It's actually more realistic than you think...think about it; fear is a huge power, enough to subdue the fight in a stronger beast. During slavery, the slaves could have revolted and overpowered the people who (thought they) owned them, but they didn't. They outnumbered and out powered, Yet they didn't...why?...fear of the unknown consequences.

One tiger who had zero allies besides a couple of vultures. The writers used fear as an excuse to not have the jungle fight back so Mowgli can be the one to kill him, but realistically it makes no sense.

There are plenty of videos of the wild that shows what happens when 2 or more defend themselves against a predator.

You know, you're right. That's why bullying doesn't exist in schools, right? The kids being bullied don't live in fear, they all instantly rise up to defeat their bullies.

You're thinking like a human. There is a reason we are at the top of the food chain and not those animals shown in this movie.

reply

I agree. I liked the movie a lot too, but it was a little farfetched to say that in a jungle full of large animals, only this young boy was capable of defeating Shere Kahn. I don't even believe that the tiger would have beaten Baloo, since the bear was twice his size and probably a lot stronger too. They also showed earlier on that the panther was willing to fight to protect save Mowglis life, sor why didn't they work as a team?

reply

I don't know man Shere Khan looked pretty battle tested and powerful to me. Perhaps he was the real deal...

reply

Yeah you nailed it

Shere Kham looked incredibly fast and strong in this movie

Bagheera even says to Baloo "He isn't being hunted by a tiger. He's being hunted by Shere Khan"

The way Shere Khan moved was so fast and aggressive, literally every single movement

Also let's remember that this is a fantasy movie, doesn't have to be completely realistic

Shere Khan wasn't an ordinary tiger. He's a well tested killing machine

Unlike normal tigers, who eat only the muffins they bake...

Take them to the security kitchen!

reply

Now you're being ridiculous

Watch YouTube videos on real tigers

Then watch scenes with Shere Khan

And then tell me Shere Khan isn't a hyper enhanced fantasy killing machine BASED on a real tiger

reply

You severely underestimate the efficacy of a tiger as a predator.

And if you think the entire jungle taking him down would have been a better ending, you missed the point of the movie.

There are 2 types of Tigesr in India, youraverage tiger and Man-eating one..apparently it has been proven that a tiger that has killed a human is likely to be more savage and less fearful of other humans...remember, Humans are the top of the food chains and all animals know it, we are an animal ourselves so a man-eating tiger who has killed a human will see it self as at the top of the food chain...Shere Khan is one of those..In India, man and tiger live side by side but if a tiger ever hunts or kills a human (Or child), that tiger gets hunted by the Indian forest officers and killed..

Fighting for peace is like screwing for virginity

I can see how Shere Khan defeated Bagheera. Even Baloo, seeing how Baloo is very laid back and probably not as vicious or as lusted for battle.

What I can't see happening is him beating the pack of wolves.

You underestimate the power of fear. No one ever wants to be the first casualty hence the backing off much like the case of common bully in schools. You're right though in pointing out that theoretically, they could take down Shere Khan. The problem is that needs very high organization/coordination as one wrong move would almost certainly mean death for the first one to pounce.
