Left after 44 min wth crying 8 yr

Really. My son was so looking forward to seeing this, then after about 35 min I noticed he was in tears. He was really shaken and sad.
So, I wouldn't advise going with a child under 10.

You know even though i enjoyed the film, it does feel like a cash grab. Aside from Baloo..the movie isn't funny. Also i feel like the last 20mins you can't wait for it to end.

Former homeschooling mom here, go get the books and read them to him, then you can stop and talk about the story, or just read bits and pieces, ignore the mean comments from people who don't know you.

Saw it last night with my 5 year old nephew. He was fine. Cept he kept asking questions about the motives of the various characters. Fun movie. Looked great.

What kind of pathetic moronic imbecile insults an 8 year old? Does it make you feel like a big boy? Do you like living in your parents basement?

I told a few friends who I know have sensitive kids by nature to rent the movie instead of seeing in in the theater after I saw it because I knew there were some scenes that might be too much for their kids. It's cheaper and easier to rent a movie and skip a scene or two than it is to pay for a film and have to walk out of the theater. And some of my friends when they asked me, I said, "take your kids, they'd love it." Really depends on the child. Definitely feel for your son, and you're right. For some children under 10, this movie is not advisable.

Thank you - seeing the movie at home would be a better option.

My wife and I took our two boys 7 and 9. They liked the film but were extremely scared at a couple of scenes, especially our youngest. Personally, I thought there were several shocking and terrifying scenes for young kids and these could have been handled differently.
The film massively detracts from the book(s) which was a disappointment especially with the change of Baloo's character, what they did with Akela and no Daddy Wolf.
One annoying factor was how Mowgli seemed to be pouring water what seemed to be like for ever on himself using a bowl when really the "real" Mowgli would have just immersed himself.

Were you able to get anything out of him as to what made him upset?

reply

Days later he was trying to figure out ways Akila could have survived the attack...

What a cool kid!

Loved it that he was trying to save Akela

Thank you for that ?:)
