Left after 44 min wth crying 8 yr

Really. My son was so looking forward to seeing this, then after about 35 min I noticed he was in tears. He was really shaken and sad.
So, I wouldn't advise going with a child under 10.

reply

Maybe he cried because of how boring it was.

I don't know what upset your child, but I took my three boys (6,8 and 10) and they all loved it - we're quite strict on what they're allowed to watch, so they're not particularly desensitized to violence or anything too intense...

Did someone quit the board?

reply

The showing I went to was mostly filled with children much younger than 8 and I didn't notice that any of them had any negative reactions to the film. Maybe he was just unduly affected by it.

Don't apologize!

Kids these days are FAR too soft! Do them good to be forced to watch some gritty movies!

reply

Indeed right. I remember watching horror movies when i was 7 and my parents were out for the night. :D That was in the 80's. Kids today are being made soft by their parents. In the 70's when i grew up parents told their kids to go out and play instead of being inside with them. It forced us to make contact with other kids and establish our own identities against the other kids. You grew up and learned not to cry and be a baby cause then you would get teased. You learned how to defend yourself and how to not be a wuss. I never had a single issue from that. Made awesome life long friends like most others.

Today kids are inside watching their screens. Parents by their sides fighting their battles. Parents buying all sorts of gear to help their kids not hurt themselves in the home instead of telling them not to f-ing hurt themselves. I fell and hurt myself on a sharp edge - learned not to do that again. I burnt my finger on the stowe - learned not to do that again. Today kids dont even get a chance to get in contact with real life so they grow up spineless and unknowing. No wonder political correctness has gone rampant these last years. Cant say or do anything cause it might cause someone, somewhere to cry. Soft squishy people, and its the parents fault for not toughen the kids up.

I wish I could "like" your comment.

Yes, I would not only say kids are soft, but so are many teenagers and adults, how do I know this? Because everybody is getting offended at something!!

The movie is rated PG. How old is your son???

reply

You sure have refined reading skills!

reply

I know the child is 8, I read it. It was pretty much a rhetorical question. I wanted him/her to start thinking what his/her child can and what can't see.

reply

This movie is a simple cash-grab, using the Jungle Books name. It is NOT a fun, charming childrens cartoon, its a heavily lacking adults film that has been a childrens certificate. This movie tried to be a cash-grab spectacle, but failed due to the awfull mix of Mogli the human, and the CGI mess.

reply

Funny you seem to be in the minority who didn't enjoy the film. Maybe it's just a cash grab to you in that case?

reply

Trust me theres no minority, check the imdb and other reviews...

reply

Well what a shocker, you are objectively wrong:

Sure is, but it's a disney movie what did you expect? They have been doing the same thing for years.

reply

It's the kind of film that might just be too much for some 7-8 year olds. 9+ should be fine. It's by no means a kid's movie.

reply

My 8 year old niece and 6 year old nephew handled it just fine.
