Nothing shall match the original
Ms Peña and Tim Robbins had something about them that gave the story an ephemera no one could ever match, a moment of time we are all privileged to share by watching this haunting story.

shareThis one has black people.
shareOh, please. The movie was a ripoff, Carnival of Souls meets the Twilight Zone meets Angel Heart. Even Uwe Boll could've shat out something more original.
shareYou seem a happy soul
shareInstead of insulting me, why don't you actually watch Carnival of Souls and Angel Heart? Then watch a couple of Twilight Zone episodes based around death ("The After Hours", "Next Stop Willoughby", "Perchance to Dream")? See how well Jacob's Ladder holds up after you watch these, LOL.
shareI am not sure how the original ripped iff Carnival of Souls or Angel Heart. All three movies are far removed from one another aside from having a twist ending.
share"Oh please" I wasn't insulting you ...LOL
shareWell, maybe Carnival of Souls is a bit similar, but actually Jacob's Ladder was inspired by a much older story, An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge, which is a very short story in comparison. There are a lot of other themes in Jacobs Ladder, it is not a straight copy of An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge, and certainly not Carnival of Souls.
shareThe whole movie had a subtly off kilter, at times surreal feel to it. Set the ending up nicely.
Also very hard to duplicate.
Who can forget the "Is anybody in there!" scene.
