So I would like to talk about what I like first:

Ben Affleck as Batman is by far the best iteration of the character for me. He is the first actor that stepped into the role that I actually really felt like I was watching Batman.

The build up to the big fight is great, with a constant and increasing tension.

The esthetic is fantastic. If there is one aspect of his work where Zack really knows his shit it is visual composition.

Jeremy Iron's Alfred is a total joy to watch.

What I hate:

Wonder Woman does not belong in this movie. Every scene where she is in feels totaly out of place and from a different movie. There's nothing in the story that demands her presence.

The over abundance of things that will only have a payoff in future movies. That is especially bad because it makes the film not age well and not work as a solo story when revisited.

The Martha situation. I've heard ALL of the arguments that defend this garbage but I'm sorry..... It may have good intentions, but the execution of this idea is so shit.

Doomsday does not belong here. This shoud be a versus movie until the end. And the death of Superman is just stupid given that this is the SECOND film in a cinematic universe.

I agree, that Martha bit was rubbish.

For me, it was mostly the reason as to why they fought in the first place and then making things worse by using "Martha" as the reason for stopping the fight; seriously, that was either laziness, lack of creativity, or one big joke from the writer(s).

Doomsday would have been a good villain for Justice League instead of that silly alien invasion angle which came out of nowhere. The Batman suit was too bulky. Not ideal for what Batman usually does. Way too much body armor

Mostly agree. Didn't mind WW being in the movie but I see where you are coming from.

I agree overall. It's too bad Ben Affleck's life fell apart in 2016 aside from this movie otherwise we'd still probably have a kickass Batman.

I thought Wonder Woman should have been actually dating Bruce and the world's greatest detective discovers she's been around for a hundred years. At least then she'd have some organic tie-in to the story.

Mostly I think a few key dialog scenes wern't handled well.

But I watched the Ultimate Edition recently, and I've changed my tune about this movie. Faults aside, I loved it.
