How come Wonder Woman in MOS was going to...
... let the entire planet be destroyed by Zod's world engine but in this one she gets off her commercial flight to help out? What changed?

shareAt the time, she was living in Paris. That’s pretty clearly established in this film and her own
But in this film, she’s been hanging around Metropolis and Gotham for a while
Likely she wasn’t able to get there in time to stop Zod (if she even could), but she did come over and stuck around (albeit to track down Luthor's photo of her)
Yes but why is she sitting on her ass drinking cups of tea in Paris whilst the entire planet is literally being destroyed by Zod? Was she sad? Suicidal?
Or maybe she could have done something...
Maybe she was saving the world from a different threat?
Or maybe it just takes her a few hours to get from Paris to Metropolis. She can't fly faster than light.
smoking hot ass drinking smoking hot tea!
shareThe real reason is that Wonder Woman had not yet been cast but if you're looking for an explanation that fits continuity: Maybe she was too busy trying to save lives from the devastation being caused in Paris to get to Metropolis in time..
shareShe had a thing for Bruce Wayne
shareYou can't figure this out? Man of Steel came out in 2013. The expanded universe wasn't created yet with Wonder Woman
shareBingo
shareThank you, I don't understand why these guys try so hard to do the DC's job of coming up with explanations for inconsistencies. It's just like all those discussions about Terminator franchise, I mean, we can talk time travel all you want, but you know the real answer is that James Cameron just didn't plan ahead.
shareAt least with Terminator you can use changes in the timeline as an explanation. Time travel is pretty much a built-in universal retcon. Maybe Wonder Woman is bipolar, and she was going through one of her let-it-all-burn phases where she just didn't give a ѕhit. 😳
shareThat's true but the problem is that they actively went out of their way to retcon Batman into the events of MOS and the destruction in Metropolis (which they didn't have to do). Once they decided to do that as a set up for this film however, to then subsequently ignore Wonder Woman's position was beyond stupid.

Yes, we KNOW Wonder Woman hadn't even been cast during MoS.
Y'know what? Neither was Aquaman. But Snyder has gone on record saying Aquaman sent the whales to help Clark after the oil derrick fire.
So Aquaman and Wonder Woman, as CHARACTERS, existed in MoS. And if DC really wanted a DCEU, they ought to explain where the other heroes were and why they didn't help.
That said, though, like I posted above, WW was in Paris during MoS. She probably made her way over to Metropolis after Zod died, in part to help out and in part to track down her stolen photo.
Also, in BvS, she expressly states that she'd stayed out of men's affairs for a century (i.e., after World War I). That would explain why, in the "WW84" trailer, we see her wiping out security cameras. She wanted to remain out of the limelight.
