I'm not crying, you're crying

The beginning felt like a pretty standard family/kids oriented animated film, and slowly it pulled me in and got me more invested. By the end, I was teary eyed. This deserves the high praise it is getting. Great animation and conventional but effective emotional story about family and love.

As with almost all cartoon movies, the relentless chasing quickly got tiresome, especially in the first half hour. Then there was the global warming message, and all the humans in the fifteen-minute utopian city were young non-white women (probably lesbians). They just can't help making everything ideological.
