The School for Good and Evil does have a good concept, the visual aesthetics are nice to look at especially the wolf animatronics, costumes, and scenery, the music score from Theodore Shapiro is cool and suits the atmosphere and the acting from everyone involved is superb especially Charlize Theron and Michelle Yeoh. Plus the two lead actresses did a good job together.

However, this movie isn't without it's faults. The pacing is terrible especially in it's 2 hour 27 minute length, the script is full of certain cliches we've seen dozens of times, the side characters haven't been given much screentime (I know the movie focuses more on the two leads, but under utilizing a talented actress like Charlize Theron is criminal), and the story could've been fleshed out and engaging. Now, I am aware that this is based on the first installment of a book series I have yet to read, but had this been turned into a TV series, it would've made for a stronger product.

I guess executive meddling always ruins everything. Then, again, Netflix so far is still making incompetent decisions regarding the quality of some of their lesser known shows/movies. Overall, this falls into the okay category. Nothing perfect, but at least this is WAY better than that shitty Ghostbusters reboot Paul Feig directed.
