It said it was 8 days later. I don't understand what this was even about, some guy kills the drug dealers but wanted one of them to live. Was the intruder trying to give him the curse? None of them seemed to have the smile virus.
Anyway I enjoyed the film even though i'm confused still. Not sure when the main actress was actually sane and not hallucinating, definitely before the mothers death since she was still alive at the end.
I'll be honest I forgot what happened at the end of the first movie and I was confused by the scene too. The scene takes place 6 days after the events of the first movie. In the first movie it's revealed the only way to avoid dying is to brutally kill someone in front of a witness to traumatize them and spread the curse to them.
The first movie ends with Rose killing herself in front of her boyfriend Joel. Joel is the person in the opening scene. He was a former cop and was trying to spread the curse to the gang members by killing one of them in front of the other. The guy that shows up and panics is Lewis Fregoli. The curse gets passed on to him. He's Skye's drug dealer who kills himself with the weight and passes it on to her.
The fact that, that was Lewis in the beginning completely went over my head. This part confuses me though because it didn't appear as if he actually saw Joel get run over, which is how I thought the virus gets spread. It was one of the gang members who did. Unless I missed something?
shareHe saw Joel kill the gang members, thats when it was passed on to him, which is why you hear Joel saying to him "I didn't know anyone else was here, i didn't mean for you to get it, i'm sorry" then he runs out and gets ran over. So he didn't need to see Joel die cause Joel had already passed it on to him when he killed the gang members infront of him.
